Revolutionizing the prime real estate market.

Casafari is a proptech software company that monitors and tracks the real estate market using meta search powered by AI. By analyzing the property offerings and matching the same property across multiple sources (such as listings, websites, agencies, etc.), the company intended to create an accurate and real-time market data which, in turn, allows for further analysis of its structure and price dynamics. Casafari's platform mainly covers the second/vacation home niche in Mallorca, Ibiza, Barcelona, Lisbon, and other locations.

Casafari turned to X1 Group in 2015, when the startup was only in its Seed stage. We were able to help the company build a solid development team led by an inspired technical director who became the foundation of one of the most anticipated real estate B2B platforms upon its release.

The Challenges.

Build a market-changing product
Our main job was to hire engineers with a background in AI and enough experience to put it to work to create a unique platform that aggregating tons of data from different sources and matching duplicate listings.
Attract high-profile specialists
One of the most challenging tasks we faced was finding an experienced CTO who would become a co-founder and technical adviser for Casafari. This person will also act as a company's representative and help manage remote software developers.

Before we stepped in the picture, the client's team already did niche research and had an understanding of the market. Their idea was to create a comprehensive yet simple platform to provide estate professionals and private investors clarity and transparency about the market prices and their variation across different agencies. So our job was to attract skilled engineers to their team to build a real estate service that would reflect the creators' level of professionalism.

One of Casafari's founders had already been working with our management and our dedicated teams and considered our cooperation model a perfect fit for their startup. X1 Group took on the challenge of building a senior team with a technical director in charge to craft a product that would command trust, transparency, and provide a wonderful user experience.

The Process.

As the project was only in its initial stage, we took our time to study the company's profile and analyze its business goals to gain a better understanding of the client's needs. We began our cooperation with finding a professional technical director who later became one of the main stakeholders of Casafari. He proposed a few significant improvements for the platform to enhance the user experience and offered his unique perception of the team profile.

Using our well-established recruiting process, we started with a team of three full-stack software developers backed by the new CTO. With his help, we were able to create a truly encouraging and at the same time engineering environment.

The collaboration between the team in Ukraine and the team in Portugal went extremely smooth thanks to everyday standups and weekly iterations, and we soon extended our offer to Casafari to set up a remote R&D office for their startup.
